Thistle Lodges

Welcome to Thistle Lodges - three superbly equipped A-framed lodges sleeping 4-8 people, a short walk from one of South West Scotland's most magnificent sandy beaches.

Set back from the coast and part of a well kept development of similar properties, the lodges are traditionally constructed to a high Scandinavian standard and have lovely views over wooded fells and a small loch.

Whether as a couples' hideaway from 'the real world', for a memorable family holiday by the sea, or as a base for group activity such as mountain biking or golf, Thistle Lodges offers the ideal accommodation.

The three lodges, Bainloch, Laggan Hill and Braemar, are laid out on two floors with a balcony to each floor. Full air ducted central heating and full double glazing to all windows ensure the lodges are warm and cosy throughout the year.

On the ground floor is a large living and dining area for 8 people, now with sliding doors down the long wall, with a fully equipped kitchen adjacent. A large balcony with furniture for dining 'al fresco' is accessed through sliding doors from the living area. Also downstairs is a double bedroom and the main bathroom with over-bath shower.

On the first floor is another double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom with a newly fitted shower. Also upstairs is a large open plan sleeping area with four single beds and a small balcony.

The kitchens are recently fitted and equipped with ceramic hob and oven, refrigerator and freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a good range of cooking equipment and utensils, crockery, glassware and cutlery.

The living rooms have a CD/radio/cassette player and a flatscreen television with DVD player. There are comfortable leather sofas for eight people.

Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided in the lodges and dogs stay for free.

They may be a spacious lodges, but if you don't use the upstairs they become ideal and cosy retreats for two.

Perfectly designed with families in mind, the lodges are a great base for memorable holidays. With two double bedrooms and a further four single beds on the open plan first floor, there is ample of room for one large or two smaller families. It's about 10 minutes walk to the beach, or you can take your stuff in the car and park in the adjacent (and cheap) car park. There's lots to do a little further afield, such as at Mabie Farm Park or the area's ice cream farms. And of course you have free use of the onsite swimming pool.

The three lodges are all within a few yards of each other, so they work perfectly for larger groups. Being spread across two or three lodges gives larger family groups plenty of flexibility and independence.

Free and unlimited access to a small onsite swimming pool with sauna is included in your stay, just a few minutes walk from the lodges.

Located on the southen Colvend Coast, Thistle Lodges are close to some of the highlights of the county, including Sandyhills Bay, whilst being ideal for also exploring the wider area.
