Strathwhillan Cottage

Strathwhillan Cottage has 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms, sleeps 10 and has spacious living accommodation with fantastic views of Brodick Bay, Goatfell and the Arran hills. We believe the cottage is about 150 years old and was restored, renovated and extended in 2009/10.

The cottage was renovated to be suitable for assisted wheelchair access. There’s a bedroom with en-suite wet room with a shower and Doc M WC with fold down support rail. There’s a paddle handle on the basin tap and a support handle in the shower. There are no stairs or steps and a car can be driven up to the ramp.

The cottage sits snugly in the middle of its mature, fenced garden which has areas of lawn and a large terraced area with a table and ample seating. There’s a gas bbq and a lockable outside shed for golf clubs and bikes etc. There is parking for 3 cars.

Dogs are welcome, subject to our terms and a £20 charge.

The main sitting/dining room is the largest room in the house with big picture windows overlooking the garden, Brodick Bay and the Arran hills beyond. There are 3 sofas and an armchair facing this beautiful view so there’s ample space for everyone to sit and relax together. There is also a TV room with a large flat screen TV using the free sat system. We also have a DVD player and a selection of DVDs. There are 2 sofas and a large padded footstool. A wood burner and a small, round table in the bay window.

The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob, electric double oven/grill, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. The table comfortably seats 10. In addition a large utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer, iron and ironing board and sink.

We provide all linen and bath towels. This includes tea towels, dishcloth, oven mit and hand towels.

Of the five bedrooms on is a double room and the rest can be set up as twins/doubles/singles each with it's own bathroom.

Strathwhillan Cottage sits in the middle of a mature, spacious, fenced garden. It has areas of lawn, a large terraced area with seating and a table as well as a gas BBQ.

Wi-Fi is available but please don’t download heavy data usage items during your stay.

The cottage is 5 minutes walk from the ferry, bus station, Douglas Hotel and the large Co-op supermarket.
