St Columba Hotel

The St Columba Hotel is owned by a group of locals, former islanders and individuals with a close connection to Iona. So you can be sure of the warmest welcome. The perfect base for you to explore the island’s sacred history and find your own sense of peace and tranquillity. Originally built as a manse, the hotel stands next to the world famous Iona Abbey and ancient Reilig Òdhrain. Enjoy the unfolding views and otherworldly sunrises from our lounge, relax beside our roaring fire, or walk off lunch amidst the unspoilt landscape that surrounds you. We are open daily from April to October.

Forget the hustle and bustle and switch off completely in your choice of clean and comfortable rooms with beautiful views of the island. All with crisp, fresh linen, private bathrooms and/or showers plus tea & coffee.

We have 27 comfortable, en suite rooms to choose from, with the option of sea view or garden view. Single, doubles, family and twin rooms are available. Each room comes with tea and coffee making facilities with delicious complimentary shortbread, a hairdryer and Scottish Fine Soap toiletries.Included in your rate is a delicious full Scottish breakfast served in our dining room, with beautiful views over the Sound of Iona.

Serving locally sourced produce, including meat from Maol Farm, Iona and seafood fresh from the clear waters around our island. Open daily to non-residents for breakfast, lunches, coffees and dinners from the end of March to early November, we offer a relaxed setting with spectacular views across the Sound of Iona. The bar is open from 11am, serving craft beers, fine wines and malt whiskies including our very own St Columba malt.

You can’t bring your car to Iona but you can park near the ferry terminal at Fionnphort and we will be delighted to meet you at Iona pier and collect your luggage.

Dogs are accepted in the lounges and bedrooms of the hotel at a charge of £15.00 per dog per stay.
