Parkhead House

Parkhead House is located in the heart of the Hopetoun estate which includes the magnificent Hopetoun House and Deer Park.

Blackness Castle and Boness can be reached in a pleasant walk, with South Queensferry and the Forth Road crossing just a short distance away. Edinburgh City Centre is 13 miles east and Linlithgow Palace 8 miles.

Built in around 1720, Parkhead House was originally the Gamekeepers cottage for the Hopetoun Estate. Much of the original character is retained with open fireplaces and views of the adjacent deer park. Parkhead offers 2 Double en suite and 1 Twin en suite bedrooms in the main house. There is also the option to stay in the quaint 1 Double Bed Thatched cottage on a B&B basis. Breakfast is served in the Breakfast room overlooking the deer park and includes locally sourced ingedients, some of which is from the Hopetoun Estate itself.

Each bedroom is individual yet beautifully appointed with the highest standard of furnishings and can be booked for a stay of one night or for a stay as long as you require.

Each en-suite bedroom has tea/coffee making facilities, Freeview TV, radio alarm, hairdryer, towels, bathrobes and toiletries.

We offer the freedom and flexibility of a self-catering break combined with the welcome of a traditional bed and breakfast so those traveling with children, enjoying the great outdoors or bringing the family pet can relax knowing if required you have the use of the cottage sitting room, kitchen and laundry during your stay.

Parkhead House would suit visitors wanting to enjoy an idyllic country retreat in an historic setting. The area is rich with famous buildings including many that have been used as locations for the popular Outlander TV Series. The proximity of the the Forth Road Bridge and Edinburgh opens up a wealth of day trip possibilities with Stirling, Perth, Falkirk and even Glasgow reachable in under an hour.
