Meadowsweet Bungalow

The self-catering property is nestled in a peaceful location in Kilmartin Glen above the Kintyre peninsula in west Scotland, where you can hear the buzzards and the migrating geese overhead.

The wheelchair-friendly bungalow boasts an array of wildlife nearby. From April onwards a cuckoo calls from the nearby woods. Also in summer there is a hare that frequently visits the garden. In between the months of April to September swallows gather on the wires behind the house. The house is located in Moine Mhor, part of Kilmartin Glen.

The accessible property is well equipped, creating that ‘home from home’ feeling. The living room is spacious and contains a wood burning stove, TV with BluRay DVD and a CD player. Wi-Fi is available. The living room also features a double sofa, matching chair and a double-motor riser-recliner chair. Adjacent to the living room is the dining room which has a table seating 4-5 people (which can also be extended to seat 6+ people).

The modern well-equipped kitchen features all the essentials you will need during your stay.

The property has two shower rooms. One is a wheel-in wet room, with two grab rails, and a stool in the shower area. There is a Freeway T80 tilt-in-space shower wheelchair with lidded commode.

There are three bedrooms in the property. The first has a super king-size double bed, which can also be made into two singles (please advise when booking.) The second bedroom comes equipped with an electric Theraposture profiling bed with two rails on each side which can be raised or lowered. There is also a battery powered Oxford Mini 140 hoist – guests must please bring their own sling. There is an additional single bed in this room.

The third and final bedroom is a small room with a single bed, slightly narrower than a standard single (2’6”) but the normal length.

One well-behaved dog is welcome for an additional fee of £15, but is not allowed on the furniture or beds.

Meadowsweet provides all the things that you need for your stay, including all bed linen and towels, heating and a wood-burning stove for the cold nights. We have even provided towels to dry dogs, if you have one with you.

Activities close by include boat trips, gardens, lochs & coastlines to explore and prehistoric sites to see. The tourist towns of Oban and Inverary are within a short driving distance. Lochgilphead and its excellent shops are five miles away. There is an array of pubs, hotels and restaurants in the area.
