Kilmichael Deluxe Cottages

Kilmichael Deluxe Cottages Arran are peacefully situated in the beautiful grounds of Kilmichael House in the magical seclusion of High Glen Cloy, but just two miles from the ferry, and within healthy walking distance of the village, as well as one of the island’s 7 golf courses - and the leisure facilities at the Auchrannie Spa Resort, which are fully open to the public.

“Cottage” here doesn’t tell the half of it, for all are spacious houses decorated in an elegant, modern, country-house style. They have full central heating and en suite bathrooms to every bedroom. Finch, Heron and Mallard are particularly spacious and have real flame/ gas fireplaces with marble surrounds. Peacock and Finch even have pianos. Most of the master bathrooms have spa baths – for a rejuvenating “massage” after a day walking the hills – as well as powerful showers.

Finch Cottage
This cottage forms one half of the clock tower building, but is detached and entirely self-contained. The bedrooms and the spacious sitting room face west onto its own private garden and across to Glen Cloy, Sgiath Bhan and Goatfell. It has underfloor central heating and a beautiful marble fireplace with real-flame gas fire. French doors lead onto a private patio garden.

Heron Cottage
As with all our cottages, it is finished to 5-star standards. Full, controllable, underfloor central heating ensures warmth and comfort all year round. The sitting room is particularly light and spacious and has a classic, limestone chimney-piece with electric fire to make a grand focal point. Each bedroom (one twin and one double) has its own bathroom en suite. The “master” bathroom even has a walk-in digital shower as well as a whirlpool bath.

Peacock Cottage
Peacock Cottage is named for our tame and friendly peacocks, who seem especially attracted to it. It is a light and spacious house with large en suite bedrooms and a living room which has windows on three sides, including French windows onto its private patio and garden. It has an upright piano in the hall.

Wren Cottage
Wren Cottage is probably the most “cottage-like” of them all. It is a cosy, fresh and bright holiday home, facing south onto the Stable Court, across its own small front garden.

Dove Cottage
Together with Peacock and Wren Cottage, Dove Cottage forms four sides of what was originally the stable courtyard. Made up of the renovated dovecote and smithy, the cottage consists of two spacious bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen and a particularly light sitting room. Dove Cottage offers not only a pretty fenced-in garden with a wisteria draped pergola, but also a second sitting area facing south, perfect for afternoon tea or sundowners.
