Hill Cottage

Hill Cottage is an original stone crofters cottage built in 1882, situated in the stunning unspoilt scenery of Sutherland, north west Scotland. Set in its own grounds with stunning views of the sea at Loch Laxford and local peaks Arkle and Foinaven. The perfect, peaceful 'Getaway' and situated on the newly formed 'North Coast 500' route.

Hill Cottage sleeps four people and one well behaved pet by prior agreement.

The cottage is heated with electric storage heaters, additional heating being available in the lounge and bedrooms. The cottage uses a private water supply which is treated but you may prefer to drink bottled water.

The lounge has electric fire and a comfortable leather 3 piece suite and coffee table. Although there is NO television reception, a television is provided to watch videos and DVD’s (a small selection is provided). There is also a CD player.

Fitted kitchen with electric hob, oven, fridge and microwave. Dining table and chairs for four leading to small conservatory with stunning open views to hills and Loch Laxford. An easy chair & a rocking chair insitu for your comfort.

There are two bedrooms – 1 Twin and 1 Double with a King size bed. 2 pillows,one fitted bottom sheet & duvet per guest, provided. Bedside tables with reading lights,wardrobe/hanging space & a chair.

Large fenced and gated garden to keep in the children and/or dog and keep the sheep out and a picnic table & bench to enjoy stunning views.

An additional toilet with washhand basin & washing machine (rotary drier in garden and tumble drier in shed). A large shed houses the freezer and tumble drier. This is an ideal storage and drying space for outdoor clothing and equipment and has room for bikes, fishing gear etc.

Bedding , towels and electricity are included in the price. We are able to offer free, Wi-Fi to all our guests for basic keeping in touch while you’re away.

Our nearest village is Scourie, about 7 miles away, where you will find a bar, seasonal hotel & restaurant village shop, Post Office and outdoor store with 24hr fuel pumps. There is also a seasonal campsite with bar/cafe/carry out. Scourie bay and beach are also well worth discovering!
