Fia Cottage

Fia Cottage offers ideal self catering accommodation for couples and families alike. Situated in the Quendale area at the southern end of Shetland, approximately 23 miles from Lerwick, it is within easy reach of Sumburgh Airport.

Accommodation comprises a spacious open-plan double bedroom and a large twin bedroom. Both have quality beds, mattresses and Sanderson’s ‘retro’ bed-linen. A cot and high chair are available on request.

Downstairs is the kitchen and the lounge or sitting room area, which is cosy to say the least with the multi-fuel stove and comfortable leather couches. Included in this area is Satellite TV, DVD player and unlimited internet access. There is a spacious bathroom complete with bath/shower, toilet and sink.

There is an enclosed garden and dogs are most welcome but at no time must they be left alone in the cottage.

Local amenities are 1.5 miles away at Dunrossness on the main Lerwick – Sumburgh road.

Within 5/10 minutes walking distance from Fia Cottage is the historic Quendale Mill which houses a small museum and café, and beyond that you will find the beautiful Bay of Quendale with its long sandy beach. On the way to the Mill and beach you will come to a road which leads up to the spectacular scenery and cliffs of Fitful Head.

From Fia Cottage to Sumburgh Head is a 10 minute drive. Here you can see the seabird colonies of Gannets, Guillimots, Razorbills, Kittiwakes and Fulmers and get a close up view of the puffins from April to August.

The the Spiggie Hotel is nearby which does takeaway meals as well as bar meals and restaurant meals.
